Stainless Steel Wire EN 10088-3 Grade 1.4031 X39Cr13 For Surgical Needles
Grade 1.4031 is a martensitic stainless chromium steel that is corrosion resistant to water and steam.
This requires the hardened and low tempered state and a shiny, polished surface preference.
Due to a higher carbon content, 1.4031 stainless can achieve a higher hardness than 1.4028 or 1.4021 stainless.
Due to its chromium content, 1.4031 stainless has good corrosion resistance in moderately aggressive,
nonchlorine-containing media, such as soaps, solvents and organic acids.
Typical application
Surgical needle wire
