Grade TP446-1 is a ferritic, stainless chromium steel for use in high-temperature applications such as
recuperators in the metallurgical and glass industries and thermocouple protection tubes.
This stainless steel 446 can be used at temperatures up to 1100°C (2010°F).
However, allowance should be made for low creep strength at the highest temperatures in order to
avoid distortion due to the mass of the steel.
Recently we provide ASTM A268 TP446-1, UNS S44600 stainless seamless steel tube, 21.3X2.7X1050mm
for one manufactuer who produces thermocouple protection tubes.
