Precipitation Hardenable (PH) stainless steels are those with the highest mechanical strength among
stainless steels, associated with high corrosion resistance (similar to that presented by Austenitic 304).
The hardening mechanism in these steels is similar to the hardening mechanism of some Aluminum and Nickel alloys – aging.
PH15-7Mo is a kind of austenite precipitation hardening stainless steel.
Material PH15-7Mo in solid solution condition has good ductility, which can be deformed easily.
The material 15.7Mo in the precipitation hardened condition, is strengthened by precipitating second
precipitation phase, so the material grade PH15-7Mo in precipitation hardened condition has high strength,
high hardness, and has tolerable ductility.
